Migrating to Nutty About Hosting

How we'll move your website, email, and domain safely

This page explains how your migration to Nutty About Hosting works. Nutty is a supportive UK-based provider who can handle much of the setup once they receive your files and database. I handle all preparation and handover steps.

1. Overview of the Nutty Migration Process

Your migration to Nutty follows these steps:

  1. You create a Nutty About Hosting account.
  2. I prepare your website ZIP + SQL backup and gather DNS details.
  3. You request a domain transfer (Nutty will ask for the EPP/Auth code).
  4. I provide the EPP/Auth code so Nutty can pull the domain into your new account.
  5. Nutty restores your website and email using the backups I provide.
  6. I update DNS/nameservers once your site is ready.

Your website stays online until the final nameserver switch.

2. Step-by-step Instructions (What YOU Do)

Step 1 — Create a Nutty About Hosting Account

Visit Nutty About Hosting and create an account. Feel free to contact their support if you're unsure which hosting plan suits your site.

Step 2 — Tell Me You’re Moving to Nutty

Once your Nutty account is created, tell me your domain name so I can begin preparing your files.

Step 3 — Initiate the Domain Transfer

Nutty will request the EPP/Auth code to pull your domain over from my Namecheap account.

I will supply this code to you or directly to Nutty (whichever they prefer).

Your current website and email remain online during this step.

Step 4 — Nutty Imports Your Website & Email

Nutty will restore:

They may also help configure older CMS installations like Drupal, though this depends on their support scope.

Step 5 — Final Nameserver Switch

Once Nutty confirm everything is ready, I update the nameservers for your domain.

Propagation: usually 30–60 minutes, with no downtime other than that brief period.

3. What I Do for You

Glossary of Common Terms

Hosting is the "house" where your website lives — the files, images, and code sit on a server so visitors can view it online.

Your domain is your website address (like example.co.uk). You pay a yearly fee to keep using it.

DNS is like an address book for the internet. It tells browsers where your website and email are hosted.

Nameservers tell the internet which hosting company holds your website. When you move hosting, the nameservers change.

cPanel is a dashboard used by many hosting companies. It lets you manage your files, email accounts, databases, and more.

SSL enables the secure padlock next to your website address. It keeps data encrypted. Many hosts offer free SSL.

The EPP (or Auth) code is like a password needed to move your domain name from one account or provider to another.

Email hosting lets you use personalised email addresses like you@yourdomain.com. This is separate from website hosting.

These are technical DNS records that help prove your email is legitimate and reduce spam. I will configure these during migration.
